Hello all! Spring is here, attempting to kill me. The mornings are cool, the air is sweet with the scent of wisteria and orange, but underneath that idyllic surface is a layer of orange pollen that has completely clogged my sinuses.
I am taking a sick day today and doing nothing*. Unfortunately after most of a day of nothing I am not feeling better, only less tired than if I’d gone out, so either I need to live in a bubble or this is a cold.
As I sat down with my second cup of tea for the day, I thought I might try a blog post–I haven’t blogged since my State of the Stash post in February. I pulled up my site to see what I’d said, and discovered it is gone.
It’s not that I forgot to publish it–I did, and linked it to my Instagram, and two people liked it. But now it has vanished. That was just a crummy discovery, not because that post was any great contribution to 21st century American literature, but because I worked really hard to compile not just last year’s numbers but also numbers from 2015 and 2016 so I could present a three-year trend.
I have a sneaking suspicion this debacle is the result of a cat on a keyboard and I am very discouraged. A post like that requires Excel files on my computer and a level of mental focus that is hard to maintain with a needy Peanut demanding attention and a neurotic dog barking at every passerby within a mile radius. I’ll contact WordPress support but it’s been over a month so I am not hopeful.
Here’s hoping your Monday is going better than mine.
*nothing (n): three loads of laundry, two loads of dishes, and hand washing everything too large to fit in the Barbie Dream House dishwasher, which is everything larger than a dinner plate

FYI – when I hit the link at the bottom of this post, I can see the prior post: State of the Stash: Final Reckoning for 2017. So, it’s not completely lost. Let me know if I can help in any way. Hope your sinuses are less clogged today!
Thanks Amy! WordPress support helped me get it back 🙂 Sinuses are doing a little better, but I’ve gone though a lot of tissues!
