One week in, most of the downstairs boxes are packed, but there are still clods of crumpled newspaper and stray sheets of bubble wrap everywhere, defying my attempts to keep unpacked packing material in the garage. For all the new space I find myself with, it is oddly inefficient. My wall calendar has yet to find a home, and the upstairs is filled with objects milling about at random, waiting for their permanent places to be assigned.
Amidst this chaos, it was a wonderful feeling to sit down and complete something: an apple cozy. The yarn is Navajo Churro, dyed with minerals, and I bought the button years ago at the Santa Monica needlecrafts convention.
What were your triumphs this weekend?
